*UPDATE 05/12/25*
I have been falling in love with Middle East brands. They are more affordable and, in most cases, of really good quality. They also tend to have some awesome bottle & packaging designs. I'm talking about Lattafa, Paris Corner, Rasasi, Al Haramain, and Fragrance World - and more from the UAE. I will never go back to buying overpriced perfumes. A lot of those designer brands complain about dupes and "smell-alikes", but not all of us can afford to splash out car payment money on a scented water and alcohol concoction. I might feel a little bit bad except that there are plenty of rich (or stupid, snobby, etc.) people to buy the high-priced perfumes. With that in mind...
I have found 2 more dupes for Cheirosa '71 -
- Creamy Biscuit (Paris Corner) - this is, IMO, better than the OG. It's missing the salty note, but makes up for it in everything else. I had a teeny-tiny bit of '71 left in the bottom of an old bottle to compare with. I realized that there are a lot of differences when compared side by side, but overall these are almost identical on the dry down. Also, Creamy Biscuit lasts longer - up to 4+ hours on my clothing. That means that on normal (or younger) skin, the longevity for a lot of folks is the 7–12 hours shown on Fragrantica. Lucky them,
- Molten Caramel (Paris Corner) - the only real difference between this and CB is that this leans on the caramel and is a touch less sweet. Still, it dupes '71. I don't understand it, but I love it.
*UPDATE 11/5/24*
- Ana Abiyedh Rouge Lattafa Perfumes - For me (and quite a few other people) a delicious dupe for BR5540 -or maybe Cloud from Ariana Grande. It came as a gift set (with the original Ana Abiyedh and the Poudre version.
*UPDATE 11/16/23 I saw a video showing how to duplicate BR540.
These are posts (mainly) about perfume dupes I have found. Their will be updates.
- MiracleLayer Scents - dupes of a few popular fragrances + their own creations. I have the dupes for Molecule 02, JHAG's Not A Perfume, and Le Labo Another 13. Bonus: it's a U.S.-based & small biz.
- Smells Like Cheirosa '71 - This scent is my favorite (so far) of Cheirosa '71. It's very affordable.
- Dupe Patrol (variety) - my first D.P. post. Includes links for a variety of duplicate products and searches.
- Cloud Musk from Mix:Bar - is a light mimic of Ariana Grande's Cloud. It really is a good dupe, IMO. It doesn't last long and seems to work better as a hair and clothing fragrance. However, it's so affordable that you can spray and re-spray without regret.
- Kaleidoscope from Bath & Body Works - a straight-up dupe for Glossier You. Not long-lasting.
- Aromatic 02 (dupe for Molecule 02) I like my ScentSplit decant of Molecule 02 for layering. I can't smell it solo but when I pair it with the cheap Persian Gardens from Kuumba Made, it's a total Glossier You (the OG) dupe. The Aromatic 02 performs the same way but is a tiny bit weaker. For the price though, I will use more of the Aromatic 02!
- Ambergris Musk (dupe for JHAG's Not A Perfume) Weirdly, to my nose, this dupe is softer and fainter than the original when worn solo but I've had compliments from other people. Basically, my nose can't detect it as well as other people's. I use this dupe for layering and it's gorgeous when paired with Ana Abiyedh - and the scent actually lasts on me for at least 4 to 5 hours.
- 13 Aromatics (dupe for Another 13) This is tricky because I have never tried the original. My nephew has and I am using his opinion that the dupe is spot-on. As for the dupe, I like it so much that it's one I will be re-ordering regularly. From it, I get a ton of powder and Cetalox - my two favorites.
- Aromatic 04 (dupe for Molecule 04) I've not yet tried Molecule 04 however, almost everything I've heard about it goes for this dupe. This is probably the weirdest fragrance I have ever tried. And I mean really weird. It plays hide-and-seek. When I first sprayed it, all I got was alcohol for 2 seconds, then nothing. I let it sit for a couple of days and tried it again. This time, it gave off a faint scent that I don't know how to describe. It didn't smell like a perfume but more like a natural scent of I-don't-know-what. Sometimes, it smells like leather and a floral. I get absolutely no sandalwood. Also, there are times I can't smell it but others can. Not unpleasant, just weird. I'm going to let it sit for a few weeks and come back to it.
- ***Crystal Power (dupe for Baccarat Rouge 540) **this was sent as a sample after I complimented the company in an email** Well, it is exactly like the original BR540 (of which I have only ever had a sample). To me, the original is a dupe of Ariana Grande's Cloud. Crystal Power is a dupe of the original. It's absolutely lovely but, like the original (and like Cloud), it does not last long enough for me to buy the BR540.
