Skincare/Haircare Addictions **UPDATE 8/10/24**

These products that I fell in love with. I only use a few products at any one time in my skin and hair care routines. I rotate between products, depending on the season and weather. Of course, I don't buy all these products all the time (no budget for that) but this is a ratings list based on a fantasy budget! I will be updating the list as I can.

Besides their effectiveness, I like these products because of their ingredients and (in most cases) price.

The Keys:

  • A+ Complete faves. I buy & use these either all the time
  • Still top faves that I tend to use seasonally.
  • A- I really like them but don't/won't buy them regularly.
  • B+ really good items but I  had to bump them down for better products.
  • B I like them a lot but they might not be best for my skin/hair type.
  • B- These are good but could be better in some ways.
  • C I really liked these for a while but then burned out on them. Still worth trying.

Skincare:

  • B+  Elizavecca Silky Creamy Donkey Steam Moisture Milky Cream. The Elizavecca brand (from Korea) is new to me. This cream makes me want to try some of their other products. This cream is extremely gentle and hydrating. Just a little of it tapped into my face was good enough that I couldn't stop touching my face to feel the texture. **UPDATE** I tried their Green Piggy Collagen & it was a HUGE disappointment.
  • A+  NIVEA Authentic *German* Moisturizing Cream. It is very important that you get the German import variety! It has a different formulation from Nivea made in the USA or Mexico. Those versions either do nothing for my skin or, worse, they will cause breakouts.
  • A  Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré, Face Cream & Makeup Primer - This works as a good day moisturizer for me when the weather is extremely humid. It's lightweight and good for my sensitive skin. It was one of the first French products I found because of the ingredients.
  •  Embryolisse Gentle Cleansing Bar. This is what I use when I don't have the La Roche Posay. It's also a good body soap.
  • A+  La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser. This is the most gentle cleanser I have ever used on my face other than oil.
  • A+   Deve Herbes Floral Waxes - These are shockingly good at locking in moisture and making my skin feel like a baby's bottom. Seriously.
  • A+   Simple Hydrating Booster - I didn't expect this to be as good as it is. I like to use it on my face with some oil or a nighttime moisturizer. It truly is as hydrating as it claims to be.
Hair care:
  • A+   Boar Bristle Brushes - These seriously transformed my haircare routine. You have to find the one with the right softness or firmness for your hair type but, when you do, it's a true game-changer. (Also check out the brushes with bamboo bristles. I will be doing a review soon.)

Peace
