**REVIEW** Garnier 5 Sec Blur

As I mentioned before, I love the box of goodies L'Oreal sent to me. L.O.V.E. it all. I did have some favorites though. This is one of them:

Garnier 5 Sec Blur. Genius.

I probably would not have tried this if not for the gift. Not only did I try it and like it, but I let my sister try it and she went out and got some for herself.

PROS:

• Mattes the face after applying moisturizer and before applying the rest of my makeup. Mattes any shine without drying out the skin.
• Could be worn alone if the shade were slightly darker. My sister can wear it without foundation. 
• Has a really nice feel to it. Goes on like a spreadable powder. 
• Blurs surface imperfections and evens out my skin tone for applying foundation or my shaded powder makeup.
• Helps "set" my foundation. I noticed that my makeup wore better and longer if I used Blur.

CONS:

• Because I have such a dark complection, I can't wear it solo. I have to apply foundation or my tinted powder to get rid of the slightly ashy look.
• Though it does work as a "primer", it doesn't really do as much for my fine lines. I think this is only because of the pale shading. If it came in a brown tint, I think the blurring would work on fine lines.

This is really a great product. I'm hoping that someone will come out with it in a variety of shades for more skin tones. When I went with my sister to pick out hers at the store, I noticed that there were at least 4 other brands with a similar product. My sister is a few shades lighter than I am, and she is able to wear the Blur solo. Looks really good on her and saves her having to wear a foundation.

***REVIEW*** Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil

I got this sample in the mail recently.

I was pretty excited to try it because my hair has been growing out recently (good thing), but sometimes looks like a dried bush. I've had the chance lately to try out a new shampoo and, thank goodness, it worked well because this oil (as a pre-shampoo treatment) did nothing for me.

This might be some good stuff if I use it as an overnight treatment with a cap. I didn't have enough in the sample to try it more than one of the other 4 ways the packet suggests using it as: an ends finisher, blow-dry protector, conditioner booster or overnight leave-in.

Depending on the price of it, I might use the coupon and pick some up for my sister (so I can borrow & try again!) next shopping trip.

Now, I just spoke for how this did with my hair. For someone with a different texture, I'm sure this would be a nice finisher. Any good combo of oils is great for hair ends. (A lot of people seem to like it.) This oil did have a pleasant feel to it (not sticky at all), and it comes in 3 formulations - for dry/damaged, frizzy/unruly, and color treated. I got the first one and should have tried the second type. Hah.

If this is like most Garnier products, it will be reasonably priced and work fairly well. I like most Garnier hair products. If you get a chance to try it out, I hope it works for you.

***REVIEW*** Garnier Clean Nourishing Cleansing Oil

One word about this: Nice!

I like most Garnier products in general. They are always as good (or way better) than they high-priced items I see on the shelves at most retailers. When I got a chance to send away for a free sample of the Ganier Clean Nourishing Cleansing Oil, I jumped right on it. (I mean, "cleansing" and "oil" is an ideal combination for someone who babies their skin.


I only wish the sample was a bit bigger. I had enough in the package to do my face, but not quite enough for my neckline.

The oil goes on with a nice, silky feel. I loved massaging my skin with the product (and that probably helps a lot with the cleansing).

The best part of this is that, as claimed, there's no residue left after rinsing. One of the annoyances of most cleansers is that they often leave the skin feeling sticky/tacky or over-dry.

The ingredients highlighted ingredients include jojoba and macadamia oils, which made me consider if it would be easier to just buy and use those alone. That's still not a bad idea, but since there's a combination of other oils and ingredients in product, it's easier to use than putting together something of my own.

As for the claims advertised on the packet: deeply cleaned and hydrated skin after 1 use (True!); and 100% of women feeling smoother and softer skin after 1 week (Believable, and I can't wait to test for myself).

I don't often wear a full face of makeup, but eye makeup (mascara and eyeliner - especially the gel liners) is the "clingiest" kind. This oil was great for that.

I really can't say anything negative about this cleansing product. When I price it in the stores here in Alaska, I will update this post. Apparently, the price is reasonable at Walmart. Typically, I find Garnier products to be very reasonable (even up here in one of the Upper 2 states!).

Like I said, I sent away for the sample. If you want to send for one, try this contacting Garnier. Some people have gotten samples at Walmart locations.

**REVIEW** Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Oil-Free B.B. Cream

B.B. creams are all the thing these days, right? A while back I reviewed one by L'Oreal. Well, there is a new one on the block and I have to say it just might be the one - at least for some of us.

Got my free tube of Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Oil-Free B.B. Cream from BzzAgent to try out. (You guys really need to get on that site and check them out.)

The Garnier cream is pretty much a winner. The only Con I have for it is big one: I can't use it for all-over coverage. The "Deep" is the darkest shade available as far as I know. I need a shade a couple pinches darker.

Just lipstick, so stop looking at my pores, please!

When I put the cream on, I was in love with it. The coverage is very light. I think it would does just what is claimed on the box:

• Control oil & shine
• Minimize pores (hallelujah!)
• Cover imperfections
• Provide "oil-free hydration."

Well, ain't that just the ticket every woman looks for? And it is also, get this, BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 20. Until recently, I just slathered on sunscreen without thinking of broad or narrow. I just know that in the summer, we get dang near round the clock sun here, so... By the way, a teensy bit goes a looo-ong way. The 2 ounce tube I got would last a regular user forever. 

The shade shown on "Deep" pretty much matches the product inside.

I told my niece and some friends about it because they have the best skin tones for this. One is Hispanic with a darker olive-tone. Two are bi-racial (black & Caucasian) and I think the "Deep" shade I received is going to work for them. We are going to play with makeup this weekend and see.

Like I said, I love this stuff so much that I am going to make it work for me in some way.

Every single claim was true. The problem for me was, I repeat, shading

It has a chalkier look than the camera is showing. It looks like I am wearing makeup. That's a no-no!

I have decided to use it as under-eye brightener when I am tired - or as a lipstick base. ~shrug~

Damnit if it doesn't look better in the picture! I swear it looked as if I had paint on!

Anyway, I can truly recommend this - as long as you can match a shade to your skin!
